About the Event

Every week on a Friday we host a Cheese Takeover featuring cheeses curated by an iconic cheese maker or local cheese lover. This week we are thrilled to have two Newstead boys - Matt Joudo and Taylor Fielding curating your Friday afternoon cheese board.  The boys have selected four cheeses they love, that they think you'll love too.

This week's cheeses are:

D'Agental - A lovely soft cheese, made from sheep's milk with an orange rind due to it being dusted with annatto during maturation. In a unique square block, it has a  fatty mouthfeel and richness that comes only from the sheep's milk.

Bleu d'Auvergne - The Bleu d'Auvergne is richly marbled with blue mould, with a relatively mild spicy blue flavour and buttery texture. The Blue d'Auvergne from Livradois is an AOP (Appellation d'Origine Protegee) blue cheese from Mornac in South Western France.

Monte Rosso - Taleggio - Section 28 Monte Rosso is inspired by the legendary Italian Taleggio and handcrafted in the Adelaide Hills. It is a semi-soft cheese with a sweet, buttery paste that has hints of fruit and a lingering lactic finish. The velvety paste is balanced by a thin aromatic, orange rind.

Arpea - this light golden coloured disk has been brine washed, giving a fine aromatic rind that, while it can feel sticky, has a delicate crunch. The quality of the sheep milk shines through, with a compact, ivory coloured pâté that has sweet aromas from nutty, to light honey, to garlic chives.

Delivery available to the Brisbane Metro area.  Orders need to be in by Thursday afternoon!
