And just like that, Christmas is done, which means that vintage is just around the corner! This year I’m adding a couple of new varieties to our lineup, as well as some new vineyards of existing varieties: the new ones are Sagrantino from McLaren Vale, perhaps some Gruner Veltliner from Adelaide Hills and a bit of Riesling from Clare Valley.
We’re also using some new growers in McLaren Vale and Barossa to increase our production of Grenache and Shiraz and I’ve finally secured some Mataro again, for the first time since 2016.
I’ll be planning to make the Fiano from Langhorne Creek partially on skins again, and will also have some Fiano fruit from McLaren Vale – so that’ll be an interesting comparison! I’ve also been on the hunt for some more fruit for the Rosé, so hopefully a couple of leads pan out there…..
With City Winery Brisbane scheduled for a Feb/March launch, my head is overflowing with things to do! 2019 is going to be huge!
